Abstract
In these learning activities, we work with a specific transversal competence in writing, required in all disciplines: knowing how to represent the structure of a text. We propose some guidelines to develop the ability to produce expositive textual sequences with specific requirements for different genres. The reports of experiences, the elaboration of summaries, the making of records, the taking of notes and the tracing of diagrams require particular editing aspects that depends on the classification and hierarchy of the information. They imply reading ability during the observation and analysis of study texts, pages of manuals, dissemination works and reports, for example; and the ability of looking for the best way to highlight information to accomplish a functional objective: the effectiveness of the registration that is carried out for different purposes, namely, learning and autonomous study.
