Oral presentation is a genre of text that can call on other textual genres (for example, synthesis, critical assessment or opinion text...), and involve the activation of different language skills (narrating, arguing, expounding...) , within the scope of “formal oral”. After synthesizing the main characteristics of the oral presentation (at a thematic-structural, linguistic and extralinguistic level), we present a proposal for a didactic model of this kind, aimed at the 5th year of schooling and oriented towards the development of three distinct language skills, within the scope of the Portuguese subject: exposition, retelling and taking a position (cf. Aprendizagens essenciais de Português, 5.º ano).
