Abstract

The basic education curriculum - "Aprendizagens Essenciais (Essential Learning) " -  in the subject of Portuguese articulated with the aims defined in the Perfil dos Alunos à saída da Escolaridade Obrigatória (Profile of Students leaving Compulsory Schooling) requires that, throughout the 3rd cycle, the Portuguese class is oriented for the development of argumentative writing. Thus, within the framework of Sociodiscursive Interactionism (ISD) and following principles and practices of teaching writing advocated in this context, we carried out Action-Research (I-A) work seeking to test a mode of didactic work that is consistent with the outlined profile.
