Abstract

The article presents arguments about relevant aspects for the teaching of literature in school: the domain of diversified repertoire and pedagogical use that values the orality of the text. The humanistic, inventive and communicative nature, by word, of literary discourse is taken as a presupposition. It indicates brazilian authors to form a contemporary collection of works for their teaching in the fundamental school in Brazil and Portugal. It highlights the relevance of oral reading to value the orality which is part of the multimodality of literary creation. It is concluded that to carry out significant work in the teaching of literature it is necessary to value its humanistic, visual and oral content.
